HSF Presents: Jonathan Stalcup, Mid-Century Modern: Its Origins and How it Was Applied in Savannah

Historic Savannah Foundation will present Jonathan Stalcup, founder of Architectural Tours of Savannah, as the September speaker for HSF’s Lecture series. Mr. Stalcup will be presenting on “Mid-Century Modern: Its Origins and How it Was Applied in Savannah” on Thursday, September 15 at the Murray C. Perlman and Wayne C. Spear Preservation Center, located in the Historic Kennedy Pharmacy at 323 E. Broughton St. Attendees are invited to attend a wine reception at 5:30 p.m. The lecture will start at 6 p.m. The lecture is free for HSF members and $15 for non-members. Reservations are recommended, as space is limited. Attendance is free for HSF members and $15 for non-members. Both members and non-members may reserve their spot by clicking the button above.

Join Jonathan Stalcup, founder of Architectural Tours of Savannah, for a Special Tour of downtown Savannah’s mid-century modern architecture on Saturday, September 19th at 10:00 am.

This tour will meet at 10:00 am in Columbia Square. Space is limited to 20 participants; pre-registration is required. Admission for the tour is $30 for HSF members and $40 for nonmembers.

BIO

Jonathan Stalcup grew up in Madison County, Iowa, site of many covered bridges and limestone structures. From an early age he was interested in Savannah, architecture, and history. Jonathan moved to Savannah and attended the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) from 1999 until 2004, earning both a BFA and a Master of Architecture degree from SCAD. During college, Jonathan gave tours through Savannah’s top house museums. After graduating, he founded Architectural Tours of Savannah, LLC. Aside from giving tours, Jonathan also has a book out about Savannah architecture. When he isn’t giving tours or writing, you can usually find him renovating his Savannah home.
